Safety Classes
The Village of Summit Police Department would like to let the public know about upcoming safety classes offered in the area.
Boat Safety Class
Boaters's Safety has been completed for 2011, Please check back in spring 2012 for the next class. Thank you to all who participated and have a safe summer.
Hunter's Safety Class
The Hunter Safety Class follows a curriculum set by the Wisconsin DNR. Class includes going through a workbook, watching videos and other hands on activities aimed to teach the student how to hunt safely. Weapon safety is very strongly stressed and proper safety techniques are taught. One day is spent at the range where students will fire live ammunition. Students can bring their own shotgun or 22 caliber rifle or use one provided by the department for the range day.
Village of Summit Police Department Hunter's Safety Class:
Registration begins June 20th 2011 (BY PHONE ONLY) between the hours of 8:00am-12:00pm at 262-567-1134. There is a $10.00 fee payable at the first day of class.
The class will be held at the Summit Village Hall. Dates include July 11th, 12th, 13th & 15th from 6:00pm-9:30pm and July 14th & 16th from 8:00am-12:00pm. Orientation will be held Tuesday July 5th at 6:00pm. All classes must be attended to complete the course.
