Hunter Safety Class

The Hunter Safety Class follows a curriculum set by the Wisconsin DNR. Class includes going through a workbook, watching videos and other hands on activities aimed to teach the student how to hunt safely. Weapon safety is very strongly stressed and proper safety techniques are taught. One day is spent at the range where students will fire live ammunition. Students can bring their own shotgun or 22 caliber rifle or use one provided by the department for the range day. Students must be at least 11 years 6 months old before the last day of class. Class is usually held in July.
